Body
(Give and/or demonstrate necessary information)
L: The internet is a network. A node is a device that allows humans to access the network. Bus and Ring network? Star and Mesh networks are the kind of networks the internet is. A server is a node that gives info and a client receives info. DNS servers are like phone book and the IP addresses are like phone numbers for computers on the network.
I: My most important source is my mentor because he felt that I needed to know this before we designed websites.
A: This is a foundation for web design because understand the medium you are publishing and how it works is important when present you intellectual genius to the world. For example when publishing in print you have an understanding of the language you are writing and the grammar of it. There is also the trouble of finding someone to publish your writings for distribution and sales.
Break down what you plan on talking about into manageable sections.
● Literal: Facts you have learned
● Interpretive: Most important source to help you learn the facts and why
● Applied: Discussion of how what you are presenting on is the foundation of your working EQ/topic

Conclusion
So now look to the internet map. You see all the lines, each one is a connection of two nodes and you can see the scope of how many nodes are out there. But let us look at something closer. Like the computers in the desks or the phones in your pockets. If you’re connected to the I-poly Student then I want you to imagine the line going from your pocket to the router in Spanish class and I want you to imagine the internet map of I-poly.
Exiting the stage is just as important as entering it!  How will you depart the stage?

Blog 4: Working EQ

  1. Because of the Research checks I have gathered more research on my topic then I would have in two months if i were left to my own devices.
  2. Source three gave me an insight to different jobs within the field of web design and how they approach it differently.
  3. Research checks and mentorship has given me a lot of information.
  4. The interview hasn't worked out because I haven't done that quite yet.
  5. Finding value:
  • What language would be most useful to me?
  • Help Edwin and Jorge build a website.
  • I would like to talk to Hannah's Dad next because he is a web designer, Jim Skaggs (mom's friend) a because he is an IT manager that told me a little about RAID 5, or I would like to contact Anthony J. Davies from www.userexperiencedesigner.co.uk because I found his website to be helpful.

Blog 3: Interview Preparation

  1. I plan to interview my mentor, John Rosales because he was my mentor during summer and it'll help prove that he know his stuff.
  2. Additional questions:
  • The internet is a network of computers, how is the network structure so that it connects all the computers together?
  • How do the computers find each other?
  • What is an IP address?
  • There are many different computer languages, do you favor a specific language when designing a website or do they all have a their own situational value?
  • What kind of hardware would I need in my computer to build a website from it?

Blog 2: Topic Choice

A.      My topic for the senior project is web design because I use the internet everyday and it occurred to me that i don't know how it works. I want to change that so that I may use this wonderful resource more effectively and I'm sure the internet isn't going to disappear anytime soon, so it'll be excellent job security if i enter the field.

B.
  • iPoly Citizen: I plan to learn explore all the functions and abilities of the internet so that I may help my fellow students use the growing and evolving internet more effectively.
  • Effective Communicator: I plan to make my website easy to use with a friendly user interface so that almost everyone can easily understand the purpose and capabilities of my site. This will force me to view my site from a different perspective to understand how other might interpret what i tried to express.
  • Effective Learner: I plan to understand the technology that I'm using right now because the knowledge to use such a massive tool like the internet more efficient and effectively will increase my ability to learn on my own from the internet whenever I want.
  • Effective User of Technology: I plan to learn why and how technology works the way it does because that will allow me to understand what the device is doing on a more basic level so that I may adapt should the core system process change.
